ARE INDIANS STILL SUBORDINATES?

Image
Indians  got freedom from the British empire in 1947 but we are still subordinated by the Britishers. Britishers have overpowered on us by enforcing their language on us. Even today a man with good vocabulary in English is considered as "intelligent" irrespective of his knowledge in any other stream. Imagine living in a nation where you, a member of the majority, are unable to read the label of the medicine you must give your child, the menu at a local restaurant or even the warning signs of the road; a place where you are unable to comprehend the government document officiating your driver’s license, tax filing or marriage. This is the world that hundreds of millions of Indians live in simply because the elite prefer English. This discrimination has become so systemic that the elite and middle classes send their children to English private schools while the vast poor send theirs to the government schools of their mother tongue. The students were divided into four groups and were asked to frame two-two sentences from each type of sentences. For ex- the students made two declarative sentences, two imperative, two exclamatory and two interrogative. After framing the sentences, group A challenged group B and group C challenged Group D. Each team was supposed to guess the sentences. The activity was further carried forward as the strips were cut into pieces and were jumbled up. Each group was given two minutes to unjumble the jumbled sentences.

PASSING THE PARCEL Through this noun game students learned more about nouns in a fun way. The students of class performed an activity "Passing the Parcel". It is the similar game which the students play but with different rules. The were divided into teams wherein one of teams would give the type of noun and the other would present the whole list of nouns. The most interesting part of the game was that the students were asked to circulate an object and the teacher was singing "ABCD", the students would stop as soon as the  teacher stopped. the child with the object in his/her hand would recall all the nouns with that particular letter.  The students had great fun and enthusiastically participated in the activity.

MY AIM The students of class VI performed an an activity "MY AIM". Students were inspired from the chapter- "How Daddy Decided What He Wanted To Be". Everybody  should have an aim in life. A student without an aim in life is merely a toy of circumstances. A student before realizing his/her aim should also realize their responsibility towards the society, their family and even nation.  The students of class VI were asked to work individually and write about their future. The students also wrote about their responsibilities as an individual as well as the wrongs they are doing in life which is deviating them from their target. The activity was of great help as many students decided their future and also promised to stay much more focus in life.
