START YOUR ENGINES

The countdown has begun as schools are preparing to welcome back their students and teachers for the new year.  This is an exciting time of year, and it’s important that administrators create a warm atmosphere. Making a school welcoming is much more than just decorating the hallways, it's more about creating an environment where everyone feels the love.

Our classroom rules are posted in big letters, follow the acronym "RACE":

R-Respect — yourself and others.
A-Attitude — always have a positive one.
C-Cooperate — and always do your best.
E-Excellence — it's the key to success!

Every new school year, teachers welcome a new crop of students into their classroom fold. Making those who are new to the building feel connected and supported is a crucial part of building a positive classroom and school climate. An even bigger challenge than students who are entering the school’s lowest grade level are young people who have transferred into the district, possibly once the school year is already underway. It can be difficult for transfer students to not only leave friends behind at another school, but also to be surrounded by new classmates who already know each other.
It is our mission to ensure that in a safe, tranquil, stimulating and intellectually challenging environment, all students shall have ample opportunity to:
  •        Imbibe universal values;
  • ·         Identify and fulfill academic, cultural, sporting and social potential through multiple paths to learning;
  •           Acquire habits of curiosity, reflection, mental flexibility, independence and self-discipline;
  •           Attain skills and attitudes for life in a rapidly changing world;
  •         Develop a respect and concern towards the environment;
  •         Maintain openness and respect in the face of racial, cultural, religious and linguistic diversity.
