UNUSUAL PETS

The students of class VII worked in groups to perform an activity on "unusual pets". The students were inspired from the chapter "MONKEY TROUBLE". They used their imaginations and came up with different ideas related to unusual pets as class pets.
The students were divided into 4 groups.  The main idea was to increase the awareness about adopting pets and troubles related to it. The students also talked about various ways to pamper a pet and how does pet relieve stress.
The students of class VII came up with amazing ideas wherein they decided to adopt "a unicorn", "python", "Guinness pigs" and also "bear cubs" as class pets. The best solution to have a class pet was given by group C as according to them a class pet will help tthem to divert their mind when there is too much of exam pressure.
The project was based on the following questions
To name characteristics pertaining to different types of pets. Are there different names for males, females, and babies? Why do pets have moustaches, claws, tails, paws, and fur? With the help of books, have children observe different breeds of dogs, fish, birdie s, and rodents. Discuss the types of food different pets eat. How pets play. Where pets nap and bathe. Discuss the veterinarian's role. Talk about pet shops and the fact that we can purchase much more than pets in pet shops (litter, collars, toys, etc.).
